Oliver is a criminal defence barrister, based in Auckland.  He represents clients facing all manner of  serious criminal charges throughout the country.

Before going to the bar as a barrister sole, Oliver was a lawyer at the Public Defence Service (PDS) in Manukau, where he represented clients facing criminal charges.  Prior to that he was a  solicitor at a firm in Dunedin, practising in criminal and civil litigation. 

Oliver regularly appears in the District and High Courts and has appeared in the Court of Appeal.  

He can be instructed privately but also accepts assignments for clients on Legal Aid.
